Sikh diaspora welcomes PM Modi’s wishes for the Games
The Sikh diaspora participating in the 35th Australian Sikh Games held at Gold Coast in Brisbane Australia welcomed the gesture of Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, to extend his wishes for the games and termed it as a great motivation for Indian Youth living in Australia.
Notably, the Indian national flag was also hoisted for the first time during the 35-years history of the games. The participants were filled with the spirit of patriotism when the tricolor was hoisted at the stadium. The 35th edition of the Australian Sikh Games 2023 was held from April 7 to 9. The Games draw crowds of up to 100,000 people over three days where during which 3,500 athletes compete in 14 different sports.
The games were well organised and took place at the world class stadiums that are used for hosting Olympic and commonwealth games.
While talking about the Prime Minister’s message for the games, Indian Minorities Foundation (IMF) Convenor Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “PM Modi’s words served as a great motivation for the participants especially the youth. In his message PM Modi has termed the games as an important platform for Indian diaspora to connect them with their own culture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always shown special affection and respect for Sikh Gurus and Community. During last 9 years in tenure as Prime Minister of India, Modi has carried out number of historical initiatives such as opening of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor after a wait of 7 decades, ensuring justice for 1984 anti-sikh riot victims after 3 decades, inauguration of Hemkund Sahib Ropeway project, grandeur celebrations of Gurupurabs and others”.

IMF Convenor, Satnam Singh Sandhu handed over the letter of wishes sent by the Prime Minister Modi to President of Australian National Sikh Sports and Cultural Council Sarabjot Singh Dhillon. Prominent member of Indian Diaspora in Australia Rupinder Brar was also present on the occasion. Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Sarabjot Singh Dhillon, said that “We thank and feel oblized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a special message for the Sikh Diaspora who are participating in the Australian Sikh Games 2023. He further added that the event is held every year to encourage all age groups to take part in a range of sports activities to demonstrate our inherent Sikh vales of inclusion, fair competition, and victory”.
In his message, PM Modi said that Sikh Gurus have emphasised on the importance of physical health and spiritual growth, and guided India and the world with many eternal and timeless values.
PM Modi noted that the Sikh Gurus gave a message of bringing people of different sections of society together as a team to achieve progress. “These concepts are also relevant in the world of sport, where people come together to participate on an equal platform irrespective of their social background,” PM said.
During the event, the Australian Sikh community showed a great interest in contributing towards the PM Modi’s vision of a developed India and pledged to work for the development of India. The Indian diaspora also expressed their trust in the leadership of PM Modi.
The Australian Sikh Games are the premier sporting and cultural event for the Australian Sikh community. The Games are held every year in capital cities and major regional areas around Australia. During the latest edition of the games, a great enthusiasm was witnessed among many about getting connected to Indian culture and their roots.
As per the official website, the Athletes, and spectators from all over the country and overseas, including New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada and the U.K. come to participate in a wide array of traditional Indian and Australian sports and cultural events.

Vishwa Sadbhavana 'Dubai Chapter'

With a vision to promote brotherhood, civility, integration, and progress aspects of the nation, today, the Chief Patron of the NID Foundation, Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu, organized the Dubai Chapter of the 'Vishwa Sadbhavana - A Gesture of Goodwill' event.
Apart from this, the Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & Information Technology, GoI, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, was invited as the Chief Guest. Moreover, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum (Chairman, MBM Group) joined the event as the Guest of Honour.
Furthermore, various prominent personalities, like Shri S.P. Singh Oberoi (Managing Trustee, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust) and Hon’ble Dr. Aman Puri (Consul General of India), also joined this magnificent event.

Vishwa Sadbhavana 'New Zealand Chapter'

Embracing the Indian ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family, NID Foundation organized "Vishwa Sadbhavana – A Gesture of Goodwill" event in Auckland, New Zealand, bringing together more than 1,000 eminent personalities from all walks of life to spread the message of unity and harmonious coexistence across the world.
We had the honour and privilege of having Jacinda Ardern, Hon’ble Prime Minister of New Zealand as the Chief Guest and Dr S. Jaishankar, Hon’ble External Affairs Minister of India as the Guest of Honour at this iconic event, which was the third edition of our flagship "Vishwa Sadbhavana" initiative. Our goodwill journey in New Zealand fostered valuable and wide-ranging discussions to further strengthen India-New Zealand bilateral relations, and propagate the ideas of peace, harmony and brotherhood.

Diplomatic Conclave
Synergized on the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and with the objective of projecting India as Global Education destination, NID Foundation organized the largest-ever congregation of foreign diplomats deliberating about collective participation on issues like Academic Mobility, Financing, Data Sharing & Knowledge Production, future HE roadmaps, Instructional Design, Sustainability, and Inclusion under the umbrella of “Diplomatic Conclave”
The Diplomatic Conclave saw overwhelming participation and response from all over the world. The high-profile attendees included Academicians, Policy Makers, and Ambassadors amongst other invited dignitaries who came together on one platform to address the important issue of collaborative progress in the higher education landscape of the world.
Organized with the support and guidance of Govt. of India, the findings of Diplomatic Conclave were submitted to the Ministry of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of External Affairs as recommendations on diversifying the national imperative of internationalization and sustainability in higher education.

Gujarat Education Symposium

With the objective of strengthening India’s position as a global knowledge hub with the most aspired centres of excellence in higher education, NID Foundation in association with Chandigarh University organized a two-day symposium on the theme ‘Building World-Class Universities with a Thrust on Quality Education, National and Global Rankings’ at the Statue of Unity, Kevadia, Gujarat on 13th and 14th December, 2021.
With the objective to improve the global rankings of Gujarat’s Higher Educational Institutions, the event brought together more than 240 education stakeholders of the state and QS ranking experts. The deliberations in the symposium were spearheaded by Hon’ble Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani, Hon’ble Minister of state for education Kirtisinh Vaghela.
In order to help the Gujarat Institutions to achieve this goal, NID Foundation in association with Chandigarh University has proposed to mentor 25 institutions from the state to improve their rankings, 15 in terms of national rankings and 10 elite institutions for ranking among top 200 international institutions.
On the basis of deliberations and discussions in Gujarat, a State IQAC and Ranking Cell (SIRC) (First) will be established by the Education Ministry of Gujarat which will be responsible for the Quality Assurance activities, communication, and day-to-day operations. Chandigarh University will establish a strategic office (SO), at its university campus.

Sadbhavana
Driven by
the tenets of service to humanity, NID Foundation felt the urge to
reinforce the trust and harmony between Sikhs and national leadership.
With an inherent understanding of the cardinality in harmony for collective
national progress, NID Foundation reached out to the global Sikh Community
and brought together 138 eminent and highly accomplished Sikhs from 6
continents who, as a contingent of harmony, met the Hon’ble Prime Minister
Shri. Narendra Modi at his residence and offered the spirit of Sadbhavana
to his eminence as an expression of goodwill for his contribution to the
Sikh community through his humble endeavors. It helped resolidify the trust
of a community in a leader, who has dedicated his life to serving others.

CU-SAT Initiative under UNITY-SAT’s 75 Satellites Program

CHAMPIONING THE COURSE NATIONAL SPACE TECH AND RESEARCH CAPABILITIES
Envisioning India of Tomorrow, NID Foundation in association with Chandigarh University is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to perpetuate 75 years of Independent India and the rich history of our culture and achievements. This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India and their rich contribution to Azad Bharat.
CU-SAT initiative under UNITY- SAT’s 75 satellite Program is one of the biggest event properties of NID Foundation in association with Chandigarh University solely aimed at furthering the institutional prerogatives in the areas of academia, research, policy, and collaboration that can inform/contribute to national growth and global exchanges.
Mission: For conducting Satellite Tracking & Telemetry Communication for Telecommand and Ground Station Operations from Earth.
Chandigarh University is the first university in India to launch an IoT and AI-based satellite in space. Chandigarh University is the primary patron for the 75- students satellite program which will mentor students from across India in building nanosatellites and handling ground station operations.

Prime Ministers’ Independence Day Speech at Lal Qila (1947-2021)
Constructive Feedback is the fuel of democracy. At times, given the work pressure, the commitments made often get reduced to being mere rhetoric. This study attempts to bridge the gap between the challenges and feedback made to the commitments. It effectively addresses the challenges through two scenarios: Conversation Indifference and Conversation Intelligence. The analysis takes a closer look at the national commitments made by Prime Ministers during their independence day speeches at Laal Qila for the past 75 years.
As we complete 75 years of Indian Independence, it’s time we celebrate the vision of our Prime Ministers. NID Foundation and Chandigarh University is doing so by bringing out a special edition as a book in an attempt to investigate the various aspects of Indian Prime ministers' foresight delivered year after year as a speech to the nation, an address to the world from Lal Qila on 15th August.
The book is a qualitative study basis scientific tools to collect, clean, and analyze the data. The 75 speeches by the Hon’ble Prime Ministers, in commemoration of the completion of 75 years of Indian Independence shall be presented as a contemporary narrative supporting the theme. The book is an investigation and analysis of the topics Prime Ministers have discussed from the Lal Qila and other important forums and what message, motivation, and slogan they gave to the national and international community. It further elicits the reactions of the Print and Digital Media. The book further presents the sentiment analysis with the help of the words chosen for the speech and the sentence framing.

Global Law Conference

The Global Law Conference was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, and comprised a large number of dignitaries including Judges from India and Overseas and Members of the Academia as speakers and delegates along with 4,000 participants from all over the country including students. This conference emphasized on understanding and analyzing the potential threats faced by bio-diversity and attaining environmental Justice through sound regulatory mechanisms. This year’s theme was based on the sustainable use of biodiversity to assist the Nation's growth while maintaining eco-system wellness and environmental Justice.
To address the issues of Biodiversity and to provide sustainable solutions, an international Conference on Environmental Diversity and Environmental Jurisprudence: National and International Perspectives (ICEDEJ 2022) was organized by NID Foundation and Chandigarh University.
Objectives of the Conference:
- To develop continuous support for leading discussions, identifying alternatives, and implementing the solutions to the Conservation of Biodiversity, Sustainable Development during and post COVID-19 along with strong Legislative Scheme and Strategies.

International Conference On Public Interest Litigation (PIL)
A Tool in The Present Times: A Balanced Outlook

International Conference on Public Interest Litigation (PIL) provided a significant inter-disciplinary platform for the researchers and practitioners to share their expertise and enrich themselves in terms of advancements and evolutions in Society. The plenary sessions during the PIL conference incorporating presentations and discussions by experts certainly created awareness of the intricacies of the subject among professionals and research scholars. It was a matter of great satisfaction, not only to the organization but the whole community in the country, as some useful thoughts and directions for prospective developments came out of the deliberations of the conference. The Conference served its objectives and provided the necessary impetus to setting forth a dynamic process of continuous interaction amongst industries of the country.
